Ralph Chami

With more than 32 years' experience as a financial economist working at the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, Chami decided to give his professional career another slant to focus on natural capital.
Ralph is a graduate of Beirut's American University, he holds a master's in Finance and Statistics from the University of Kansas, and a PhD in Economics from the Johns Hopkins University.
This economist and expert in macroeconomics left his job with the International Monetary Fund to address two of the major challenges now facing the human race: climate change and biodiversity loss.
He is doing this by creating a framework for the valuation of blue and green natural capital and fauna and flora, in order to build an equitable, nature-positive economy. He has developed a new field of finance based on science, and believes in investment in living nature and the creation of a nature-positive economy.
