Víctor Suárez
Chef at Haydée (La Orotava, Tenerife, Spain)
Víctor Suárez (Tenerife, 1987) is a former star pupil of Martín Berasategui and Albert Adrià, with whom he worked for a long time in Lasarte, Tenerife, Sevilla and Ibiza.
Restlessly creative, he sails the sea of eclecticism, between the practicalities he learned from Berasategui and the dreams he experienced with the Adrià brothers, but uses local produce in an extremely imaginative format with occasional sparkles from his many trips to Asia and stints at Azurmendi *** with Eneko Atxa or at the Nerua* with Josean Alija (Bilbao).
Winner of the 11th Absolute Regional Canary Island Chef Championship. In 2017 (ex aequo along with his pastrymaker sister Laura) he won the Best Head Chef Award at Diario de Avisos, Spain's oldest culinary competition.
He has a Repsol "Sol" distinction, and is recommended in the Michelin Guide.
