Pedro Sánchez

Head of sales and marketing at Aquanaria (Canary Islands)

He has been working in fish and seaweed aquaculture for almost 30 years, at all times from the perspective of private enterprise.

Born in Cantabria. He has a degree in Biology from the University of Oviedo, and a Master’s in Environmental Sciences from Madrid Polytechnic. His first professional steps involved mapping seaweed on the Cantabrian coast. He subsequently worked on the usages and applications of seaweed in the foodstuff industry.

He began work in Aquaculture in 1993 in the fish food sector, particularly with gilthead sea bream and sea bass, as head of Product and of R+D and Nutrition.

In 2001 he joined the Aquanaria project and worked in a number of posts, up to 2005 as director of Operations in the Canary Islands. Since 2018 he has been head of sales and marketing. Aquanaria is a company producing large-format sea bass in the Canaries, and operates in more than 25 countries.
