Director of Blue Port Centre - Den Helder (Amsterdam, Netherlands)

Pim Visser is director of Blue Port Centre Den Helder and advisor to the regional fishing association in the northwest Netherlands. In his previous job as director of VisNed (national fishing organisation), he was involved in the “North Sea Agreement” co-existence negotiations in the Dutch section of the North Sea.

Since the North Sea (the most exploited maritime basin) is to be transformed into a source of renewable energy, representatives of the wind power sector, the oil and gas industry, in addition to environmentalists, shipping, fishing and governments struck a joint agreement for sustainable usage of the sea. Between 2014 and 2021, Pim Visser chaired the European Association of Fish Producers Organisations (EAPO).
