Salt has been an integral part of our daily lives for thousands of years. Once highly valued in the economy and used in ancient times, its value declined until it was considered practically a waste product. However, salt is now experiencing a renaissance.  This presentation will explore this new era of salt as a vital material for addressing the challenges of the 21st century. It will examine the value of salt in relation to human health, as well as new methods of transporting salt that mitigate health risks. Additionally, it will explore salt's applications in energy, climate, and the provision of strategic metals.
